Breaking Down 20th Century Fox’s Final ‘Fantastic Four’ Trailer | Film News

If you haven’t checked out the final Fantastic Four trailer by now, do not worry, as we’re here to breakdown the trailer in all its superpower glory just for you. Earlier this, year we got our first taste of Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four reboot with a teaser trailer and then later on our first official trailer. But now, we have our final trailer before it’s August 7 release date. So, what did we find out?

The trailer starts off with a young Reed Richards and Ben Grimm in presumably Reed’s basement as Reed shows Ben one of his new experiments in which it looks like Reed has managed to crack teleportation. So what does this tell us? Simply enough, Reed is a freaking GENIUS. This further means that we maybe get some kind of origin story for each of the characters. Maybe it will go into more detail about Sue Storm being adopted by Dr. Franklin Storm?

The soon to be fantastic four plus Victor Von Doom (Toby Kebbell) are then in some kind of laboratory where, in front of the government they ‘crack inter-dimensional travel’ and travel to a molten rock type planet where somehow they develop their special abilities. This differs hugely from the previous interpretation of Marvel Comic’s Fantastic Four origin story, but lets not go into much detail about those movies… yuck.

Then we finally see it, a montage of the Fantastic Four’s powers. We see Reed Richards stretch his arms whilst being tied down, we see Ben being a…huge..rock..type thing, we then see Sue turn invisible and finally we see Johnny burst into flames. It then appears that the Fantastic Four are being used as military weapons for the government. Something which Franklin does not seem pleased out.

This is then quickly juxtaposed with the appearance from Doom, our antagonist. Then, its powers galore. The audience is suddenly bombarded with explosions left, right and centre, coming from numerous members of the Fantastic Four and the army, presumably fighting off Doom. “He’s stronger than any of us!“, “But he’s not stronger than all of us” replies Reed Richards to a reluctant Johnny. It definitely appears that Doom is a force not to be reckoned with. So what do you think about the upcoming reboot? Are you excited for it or are you not?
