First Images Of Martin Scorsese’s New Period Drama ‘Silence’ | Film News
Long awaited Martin Scorsese flick Silence seems to be solidifying after a number of scheduling conflicts and problems during the production shoot. With the release of a number of images from the shoot, Silence looks set to hit the 2016 Cannes Film Festival before a wide release from Paramount.
After the drug-fueled, debauched biopic comedy The Wolf Of Wall Street, Martin Scorsese has gone completely left field making a film more along the lines of Werner Herzog‘s work in the ’70 and ’80s. Andrew Garfield (Amazing Spider-Man) and Adam Driver (Star Wars 7) play Jesuit priests searching for Liam Neeson (Taken), their mentor in 17th century Nagasaki.
It’s interesting for Scorsese to take a drastic and bold step into this kind of material, Garfield and Driver have proven their acting abilities before so it’s welcoming to see them take on something so different, same goes for Liam Neeson who could do with a break from tired played out action movies for a bit. Check out Garfield in Silence below:
