First Photo Of Matt Damon Back As Jason Bourne | Film News
After months of rumours and naysayers (despite Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon saying so), finally fans of The Bourne Franchise have rock solid proof that Jason Bourne himself, Matt Damon, has returned to the action franchise that proved that he was not only a great actor but a badass too.
Producer Frank Marshall released the above image via his Twitter account with the message that ‘First day of principal photography complete and happy to report, BOURNE is back! #Bourne2016.‘ The picture shows an impressively svelte and toned Damon when compared to his last outing as the amnesiac government assassin in The Bourne Ultimatum.
No official word has been released as to the nature of the story that will reintroduce Bourne back to audience’s conscious but Damon has mentioned that the film will reflect the risky-financial times we have been experiencing with the narrative taking place in a post Edward Snowden world. An interesting slight to make given the whistleblowing Bourne himself demonstrated against Treadstone, the illegal program that created him, before ultimately going off the grid at the third films end.
With Paul Greengrass back in the directors seat and Julia Stiles also returning as Nicky. The fifth instalment has also attracted new cast members including Alicia Vikander, Tommy Lee Jones and Vincent Cassell in unspecified roles as of yet. Bourne is set to return July 29, 2016.
With broad taste in TV from the WWE to Pretty Little Liars with a sprinkling of The 100 thrown in, Its safe to say I'm a mixed bag.
My favourite film changes on a dime but has been known to include Fight Club, The Departed, Black Swan and even The Hunger Games.
And not forgetting Empire Strikes Back ... but thats a given, right?
