First Trailer For ‘Bad Times At The El Royale’ Arrives | Film Trailer
20th Century Fox has dropped the first trailer for thriller Bad Times At The El Royale, and it’s a doozy. What begins as a Coen Brothers-esque quirk fest quickly turns into a violent thriller with seemingly surreal overtones. Written and directed by Drew Goddard (The Cabin In The Woods), it seems to hint at being a similar genre-bending exercise to that film.
The titular hotel straddles the line between California and Nevada, and we know that the film will focus on seven strangers…but that’s about it, which adds even more intrigue after this very well put together trailer. The film stars Jeff Bridges, Cynthia Erivo, Dakota Johnson, Jon Hamm, Cailee Spaeny, Lewis Pullman, Nick Offerman and Chris Hemsworth.
Combine Goddard’s flair for the unusual – though he also penned the screenplay for The Martian – with a superb cast and that enticing trailer above, and you’ve got a potential hit on your hands. We’ll see if Bad Times At The El Royale delivers good times and lives up to the hype when it arrives in cinemas on Friday, October 5.
