First Trailer For Disney’s Live-Action ‘Aladdin’ Unveiled | Film Trailer

Disney has unveiled the first glimpse at their new live-action version of the 1992 animated classic Aladdin. Directed by Guy Ritchie, this version will feature a litany of new songs by original songwriter Alan Menken and La La Land songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

There will obviously be bigger trailers that will reveal more of the film, but this clip showcases the live-action (but mostly CGI) world of the new version, and it does look expansive and grand. It’s not dissimilar to the original teaser for Beauty And The Beast, and considering that led to a boatload of box office revenue, Disney is naturally following a similar marketing model.

The film will star Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott, Will Smith, Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban, Nasim Pedrad, Billy Magnussen, Numan Acar. It will be interesting to see if Ritchie adds any directorial flourishes or unique spins to the film, or whether it’s pretty much a standard remake. It’s likely to be the latter.

There’s next to zero chance that Aladdin doesn’t make a boatload of money when it hits cinemas May 24, 2019.
