First Trailer Released For ‘Room’ Starring Brie Larson | Film Trailer

Having secured a spot in the Toronto International Film Festival, a trailer has been released for Lenny Abrahamson’s anticipated drama Room. Starring Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay, Room is based on Emma Donoghue’s 2010 novel, based on the true-life case of Elizabeth Fritzl.

Fritzl was locked in her father Josef’s basement for 24 years, imprisoned whilst bearing him several children before she was found in 2008. Her father was arrested and jailed for life in 2009. In Donoghue’s novel, the story surrounds Ma, a prisoner of seven years, and her son Jack, who narrates the novel. The film will take on this adaptation, of which Donoghue wrote the film script from her original novel. Room is set for a limited US release on October 16, and wider release on November 6. No date has been yet named for a UK release. You can watch the trailer below.
