Foals Reveal Reason For Turning Down Glastonbury Surprise Slot | Music News

In a recent interview, Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis exposed that they were in fact offered a surprise slot at Glastonbury Festival. After the unfortunate incident with Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters breaking his leg, Florence + The Machine were added as headlines, leaving a free slot, second down on the Pyramid Stage. Although initially offered to Foals, The Libertines eventually filled the scheduling gap due to Philippakis’ reasoning of the band not being fit enough to perform in their usual fashion. “I’d been smoking too much”, he said, “our shows are so physical that I’d have been wheezing”.
