Frank Marshall Confirms There Are No Plans For Jason Bourne To Meet Aaron Cross | Film News

Ever since Tom Gilroy‘s expansion movie from Robert Ludlum‘s novels, Bourne Legacy, released  back in 2012, fans have speculated as to whether Jeremy Renner‘s character, Aaron Cross, would ever meet his fellow agent, Jason Bourne, played by Matt Damon. Things were looking hopeful when it was announced that Paul Greengrass and Damon were to reunite on a Bourne 5 flick, with the follow up to Gilroy’s Legacy movie being pushed back to accommodate – could this mean the two secret agents will meet? Um, no. Apparently not, according to producer Frank Marshall.

Marshall was recently asked about a possible cross over and was very confident with his decision; “We don’t have plans for that. You never know. I never say never. But that’s not the plan. They’re on separate tracks”. While this answer doesn’t completely rule out a Bourne/Cross mix up, it’s not looking hopeful. While part of me likes the idea of keeping these guys separate, it would have been cool to see some kind of epic show down between the two trained killers! Bourne 5 is headed to theatres on July 29, 2016 with Renner’s sequel hitting theatres in 2017 at the earliest.
