While Gal Gadot found tremendous success in Wonder Woman by taking the warrior princess to World War I, she’s now set to star in a film that tackles World War II, albeit this time with less superheroes.

Gadot is in talks to star in Ruin, a revenge-thriller set in the waning days of WWII which follows a nameless ex-Nazi captain who navigates the ruins of post-WWII Germany. Determined to atone for his crimes, he sets out to hunt down the surviving members of his former SS Death Squad.

It’s not yet known what role Gadot would play, though reportedly there’s an offer on the table for Christian Bale to play the captain, though no negotiations have not yet begun. Justin Kurzel (Assassin’s Creed) will direct the film, and it is hoped production can kick off in early 2018 if Gadot signs on.

Gadot is naturally already signed on for the Wonder Woman sequel, and if she signs on for Ruin, it would be a solid project for her to make inbetween superhero outings. Though with the full slate of actors not yet signed on, an eye on an early 2018 production start date might be a little hopeful, and if it’s postponed, that could hurt Gadot’s availability. We’ll see.

Wonder Woman 2 is currently scheduled to be released December 13, 2019.
