A typical year for the Emmys old faces sweeping the boards with how epic they are. Game of Thrones confirmed its place as one of the most watched fantasy series in the history of television, the sixth season of the show picking up 23 nominations, the acclaimed The People V OJ Simpson netting 22 of the Emmy nominations in a display that showed the diversity of television over the traditionally dominant film.

 

The show’s nominations include an acting award for Sarah Paulson who played prosecutor Marcia Clark, making it the first series since ER to do so well at the Emmys.
