The premiere of season six of Game of Thrones was a mixed bag for HBO in terms of ratings and fan reactions to the news that Jon Snow is actually dead. 10.7 million people tuned into the premiere – a total viewings when taking into account streaming and two repeat airings.

The number is an all-time record for Game of Thrones, although the picture is a bit different when taking away the amount of people streaming from the final tally. In truth, the fatigue with the show is beginning to show – traditional ratings only around 7.9 million, making it one of the lowest viewers ever recorded for a series premiere.
