‘Game Of Thrones’ To Run For At Least Eight Seasons | TV News

HBO’s TV hit Game of Thrones has been on our screens for five seasons so far. With more and more shocking stories each year, it was announced on Thursday that the show will run for at least eight seasons. Michael Lombardo, HBO president, said that he sees the show going past its previous rumoured seven season endpoint. “Seven and out has never been conversation“, he said, “the question is, how much beyond seven are we going to do?

But while the length of the show’s run is still very much up in the air, Lombardo did provide a concrete answer to another question. When the subject of Jon Snow came up, he insisted that the seemingly late Lord Commander is indeed dead, saying that, “dead is dead“. Sorry Kit Harrington, you did not make it to the end. With George R.R. Martin’s books still being written, there is much more of the story to be told, and I’m sure HBO, R.R. Martin and all the fans of the show are very excited to see how long it can run for and how many lives can be destroyed during that time.
