George Clooney To Make Cameo Appearance In ‘Downton Abbey’ Sketch | TV News
George Clooney is reported to star in a special episode of Downton Abbey. The actor has been lined up to appear in a one-off sketch for ITV’s Text Santa charity appeal. According to the Daily Telegraph, Clooney has already filmed his scenes but the exact nature of his involvement is being kept strictly under wraps. The actor is said to play an American character who is a guest at a wedding held in the grand country estate, but it has been reported that he will not act in the main Christmas episode of the series.
The sketch has been written to raise money for a charity fundraiser called Text Santa. It is ITV’s annual Christmas fundraising event which first launched in 2011. All of the proceeds go to the selected charities. This year the choice of charities include the Alzheimer’s Society, Teenage Cancer Trust, Guide Dogs, Together for Short Lives, WellChild and Marie Curie Cancer Care.
