George R.R. Martin’s ‘The Ice Dragon’ To Be Adapted As Animated Feature | Film News

Game Of Thrones author George R.R. Martin just signed a Hollywood movie deal with Warner Bros. to turn his fantasy novel The Ice Dragon into an animated movie.

Set in a medieval world where dragons are used as weapons of war by rival kingdoms, the 1980 children’s book tells the tale of a young girl who befriends a rare and untamed creature, the ice dragon. Together, they will try and protect the girl’s homeland from a dangerous fleet of dragons which threatens to destroy the city.

Martin will be actively involved with the project: not only will he act as a producer, but he could also write the script for the feature — although that is yet to be determined.

One thing is sure: even though the final season of Game of Thrones will air in 2019, George R.R. Martin is not done being the topic of conversations with his HBO prequel spin-offs already planned, The Ice Dragon animated movie and the upcoming adaptation of his science fiction novella Nightflyers.

Hollywood can’t seem to get enough of Martin… and neither can we.

Just your typical French girl cliché : a fashionista with a child-like sense of wonder and a great passion for art, whose definition of fun involves reading literature in parks, writing old movie reviews, making sketches of strangers and debating with friends at sidewalk cafés. I am a 22-year-old business school student walking around with a head full of existential questions, driven by an insatiable curiosity and thirst for knowledge which constantly prompt me to see or do something new. As part of this discovery process, I am currently living in London for a few months before heading back to Paris and enrolling in a master in marketing.
