If a childhood friend of yours is an otherwise good person…that shouldn’t excuse any crime that they may (or in this case, do) commit.

Brock Turner, a twenty-year-old ex-Stanford University student, was sentenced to six months in county jail following three counts of sexual assault after being accused of five. An extremely light sentence, many would agree…though some some do not.

In a letter penned to the judge, drummer Leslie Rasmussen explained how out of character this was, exemplified his positive traits, and stated that he wasn’t a “monster”. Rasmussen also blamed it on political correctness and does not define it as rape. Turner sexually assaulted someone who was unconscious and intoxicated.

In response, Northside Festival recently made the decision to drop Good English, Rasmussen’s band, from their line-up.
