‘Goosebumps’ Sequel Already In The Works | Film News
With the trailer only arriving a few weeks ago, it seems like Sony Pictures are banking on their big-screen Goosebumps reboot to be a hit, as a sequel is already being developed, with stars Jack Black, Dylan Minette and Odeya Rush all having signed on for sequels. For those of you who aren’t aware, the Goosebumps books are child-friendly horror stories that began publishing in 1992; immediately internationally successful, they have sold 350 million copes worldwide, spawning a spin-off TV series and countless nightmares for young audiences (not me though- I was far more terrified by Grizzly Tales for Gruesome Kids).
In the new film adaptation, Jack Black plays Goosebumps author R.L Stine, whose young neighbours release the monsters he has written about after accidentally reading his manuscripts (its a film for kids, go with it). It hits US cinemas on October 16, yet doesn’t get released in the UK until the February school holidays- expect a change of release date to be announced sometime soon.
