Great Lake Swimmers – Zero In The City | New Music

Canadian Folk group Great Lake Swimmers have announced their new album A Forest of Arms due out on April 21 through Nettwerk Records. Changing their recording style from 2012’s album New Wild Everywhere, where the band recorded in a proper studio, the group stated that they made the album during many sessions scattered over many different locations, and apparently “some guitars and vocals were captured in the Tyendinaga Cavern and Caves in Tyendinaga, ON“. Frontman Tony Dekker cited “his experiences with the World Wildlife Fund, through which he witnessed the impact of the BP oil spill, as well as the Northern Gateway Pipeline controversy, as sources of inspiration for the band’s new songs“. Listen to the single “Zero in the City” here.
