Green Day Reveal Trailer For ‘American Idiot’ Documentary | Music News

Green-Day

It has been eleven years since Green Day released their award-winning album American Idiot. The album sold over six million copies and marked an unexpected but huge comeback in their career. Tracks like ‘American Idiot’ and ‘Boulevard Of Broken Dreams’ breathed new life into the band and massively expanded their fan-base.

‘Heart Like a Hand Grenade’ (due for release on October 15) follows Green Day during the composition of American Idiot and the trailer was recently revealed. “This movie is like a fly on the wall art house piece. It is the first time Green Day allowed someone into the studio to film them,” directer John Roeker says. It features unreleased footage of the punk-rockers performing the album in a small theatre. This will surely be a fresh hit of nostalgia for fans who fell in love with American Idiot and all that it stood for.

Details of which venues the documentary will be screened at are here and you can view the trailer below.
