Grimes Previews Two Songs From Her Upcoming Album | Music News

Canadian musician Claire Boucher, better known to the music world as Grimes has just released some snippets of two new songs that, presumably, will be featured in her upcoming album.

Grimes, who is a veteran of the music industry, has been touring with the likes of Lana Del Rey and Florence + the Machines. The singer has also collaborated with the band Bleachers on the track “Entropy“, that was featured on the HBO show Girls.

Early this year, however, rumors of a possible feud with her record label, 4ED had surfaced, threatening to leave the fans and Grimes with no music to look forward to. After a year of silence on the musical front, Grimes, who is still signed to 4ED, has later announced that she will release two albums with two different record labels.

On confirmation of this, today she published two unreleased songs on her Twitter account. The tracks, that she describes as “a cheesy love song” and an “ethereal chav jam” should be included in her upcoming untitled studio projects.

From what I can tell, the two songs seems in line with her previous album Art Angels. Her music, a highly experimental and mixed hybrid, manages to blend together k-Pop, EDM and dance sounds with ethereal and soprano-like vocals that makes Grimes one of the most original musician out there.

Given these premises we can only hope to hear some more music soon from the Canadian singer who, despite her personal clashes with her record label, has still a lot to give music wise.
