Grimes has spoken out on sexual harassment she has experienced in the music industry, in a revealing new interview with Rolling Stone. The Canadian star, real name Claire Boucher, told the magazine, “I’ve been in numerous situations where [men] would literally be like, ‘We won’t finish [working with you] unless you come back to my hotel room. If I was younger or in a more financially desperate situation, maybe I would have done that”.

The comments stem from the publication asking Boucher her thoughts on the recent Kesha/Dr. Luke trial, to which she said, “I don’t know enough about the specifics of that situation, because it seems very complicated“.

Several female stars have recently spoken out about sexual abuse within the industry, most notably Lady Gaga with her performance of the song “Til It Happens To You” at this years Academy Awards. Grimes is currently touring in support of her 2015 critically-acclaimed fourth studio album Art Angels which was named NME’s Album of the Year.
