Hala Kaiksow Exhibition Will Reach Victoria And Albert Museum | Culture

For the first time ever Hala Kaiksow was chosen as one of the five finalists for the prestigious Jameel Prize. It is the first time ever that a designer has reached this stage, in fact is usually won by architects.

The Jameel Award is a international prize for artists and designer who takes inspiration from islamic culture. It is at its fifth edition and every year its popularity keeps growing. In fact, Hala Kaiksow takes inspiration from costumes from the Barbarians and such. She definitely has gotten far due to her passion about islamic influence.

Hala Kaiksow in the last few years has won a lot of prizes for her works, such as the 2016 Fashion Utopias Award by the British Council with her collection that included the Kimono Vest and and the Thobe Nashal who got Hala the 5th position at Jameel Award.

You will be able to see the clothes at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London until November 25, for more info about it visit the website here.
