‘He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe’ Reboot In The Works | Film News

80’s kids, it is time to raise that Power Sword proudly above your head and summon the power of Greyskull because He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe is striding back into our lives atop his Battle-Cat and he looking to crack some skulls and take names.

Over at Variety, sources have revealed that Sony has numerous drafts already in circulation for their reboot of the popular animation, comic book and toy line that totally raged in the 80’s. Terry Rossio (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2) have already submitted drafts for the franchise but it is Thor: Ragnarrok’s Christopher Yost that has been tagged to the write the script for the popular kids hero.

Of course you may remember the not-so-successful live action movie in 1987 starring Dolph Lundgren, but with a writer who has cut his teeth writing for animated shows such as X-Men: Evolution (2000) and The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes (2010) before moving onto bigger projects including Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World (2013) and its sequel Ragnarok expected in 2017, it is safe to say that Yost is more than qualified to bring Prince Adams’s alter-ego into the new century and young peoples hearts. Now, who’s petrified of Skeleton, show of hands.
