Heartbreak For Liverpool, But Celebration For BT As Match Draws In 3.5 Million Viewers | TV News
It was heartbreak for some, but celebration for others. Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool’s 3-1 defeat by Sevilla scored major ratings for BT Sport, the channel recording its biggest audience – 3.5 million viewers – for the match.
The breakdown of the figures from the live coverage of the final, free to non-subscribers on Youtube included 1.6 million viewers from BT Sport Europe, 606,000 at the same time on BT Sport Showcase, making the audience a total of 2.2 million. The views peaked at 3.6 million viewers across a five minute period making it the highest average audience and peak audience to date for BT, anchored by Jake Humphrey, and former Liverpool players Micheal Owen and Steve McManaman.
