Here Are The Reasons Why Mary Berry Turned Down ‘Strictly’ | TV News
Mary Berry has had an illustrious career lasting over 5 decades, and she’s still going strong at the sprightly age of 80 years young. A whole new generation of fans were introduced to her culinary know-how and ‘no nonsense’ approach to cooking, when she became a judge on the supremely popular Great British Bake Off in 2010.
But Berry is a smart cookie, and knows where her strengths lie – so when the folk at Strictly Come Dancing came a-knocking to invite her to take part, Berry decided to stick to what she knows best: cooking up a storm in the kitchen. She turned down the opportunity to compete in the dancing contest for the following reasons: “I have two left feet and would make a terrible fool of myself.”
I’m sure that Berry would’ve brought her elegance and poise to any salsa or polka she danced; and I’m certain her huge fan-base would’ve backed her all the way to the Strictly final.
