Hugh Grant Confirms Departure From ‘Bridget Jones 3’ | Film News

Serial cheater Mr. Daniel Cleaver will not be returning to world of Bridget Jones, as Hugh Grant decides to put this famous bad boy character to bed. Grant has spoken to Free Radio via The Hollywood Reporter, that despite being attached to the proposed project for many years, he will not be joining the famous cast for another go.

When asked about his reasoning behind not carrying on the Bridget Jones franchise, he replied; “the book’s excellent, by the way, but the script is completely different — well, the script as I last saw it a few years ago”. Hmm, how will that go down with the book fans, I wonder? It is certain though that the world of Bridgett Jones will just have to carry on without dirty Daniel. The new film, Bridget Jones’ Baby, is still shrouded in mystery however, as production halted in 2012 and hasn’t much started up again. Still, with fans hunger for more Bridget and Mr.Darcy, there’s no doubt we’ll hear something soon enough!
