Hull Truck Theatre Receives £250,000 Rescue Fund From Arts Council | Arts

Hull Truck has been handed an emergency grant from Arts Council England to help it resolve its current debt. This payment will be for the financial year 2014-15, the Arts Council has been involved with Hull Truck since 2011, and the theatre company has received a total of £1.75 million from the council. Hull Truck became a national force in the 1970s before cementing its reputation under playwright John Godber, who was artistic director for 26 years until 2010. It is due to be one of the main venues when Hull is UK City of Culture in 2017. The company is struggling to keep ahead of its financial situation, but hopefully it will continue to succeed with its running.
