Izzy Bizu – Floating Lamps (Rooftop Sessions)‏ | New Music

The stunning girl with the stunning voice Izzy Bizu is back with another Rooftop Session to bring home her latest release of this beautifully raw yet picture perfectly pretty track entitled “Floating Lamps“. South West London native Izzy, who is just eighteen years old , was discovered at an ILUVLIVE Open Mic competition, and it comes as no surprise that she won, since she blew away her audience that included musical masters Emeli Sande and Naughty Boy.

Izzy’s mother is Ethiopian and her father English and combined, have ignited Izzy with a beautiful array of cultural influences which has truly shaped her unique and captivating soulful pop soundscape. She grew up listening to the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Amy Winehouse and James Brown, from whom you can clearly see that Izzy has learned from. She has since taken those nostalgic funk-and-soul elements, and weaved them so delicately with her R&B-inspired melodies and raw natural acoustic tone.

Six months in to the future from when she was first discovered, Izzy’s debut EP Coolbeanz caught the attention of an array of Radio 1 tastemakers including the likes of Zane Lowe, Gemma Cairney and Huw Stephens, and to top things off, she caught the eye of BRIT award winner Sam Smith, who later invited Izzy to support him on his recent UK tour, which lets face it, is an unbelievable opportunity, except in this case, when its actually very believable since Izzy is a rare talent, and an utterly captivating authentic UK artist, which fits perfectly alongside Mr Sam Smith.
