James Franco To Teach Film Class | Film News
At this point there isn’t much that can be entered into the sentence, ‘James Franco is going to ______’, that I would not believe. However, teaching a film class was definitely fairly low on the list, in terms of likelihood.
As it turns out, Franco has been teaching a short course in screenwriting at his alma mater, the University of California, for a while now. This year, however, he will be teaching a course on film making at Palo Alto High School, also in California. You can apply here, if you don’t mind a long commute. The course will teach youths how to produce a short film, helping them to screen their effort at a festival. Which all sounds very nice.
Sometimes I fear James Franco is beyond what we mere humans call ethics, so I guess we’ll see how this all blows over. One thing I will say, I don’t think I’d want someone on my faculty who once wrote the line, “The building is beige, but the shadows make it shadow-color.” Kids are merciless, just look at Reddit…
