Jeff Goldblum & Danny DeVito Team Up For Amazon Series | TV News
Amazon continues to add to the slew of big names they’ve signed on. Jeff Goldblum and Danny DeVito are set to star in a as-yet-untitled half hour comedy series about an iconic music duo from the past.
The show is created and written by The Simpsons producer and writer Tim Long, with Goldblum and DeVito starring as a Simon & Garfunkel-esque duo forced to reunite despite their distaste for one another. The characters are described as “talented but strong-willed” and, more interestingly, “incandescent idiots”.
DeVito is of course well-versed in playing an incandescent idiot having starred on It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia for eleven seasons. It’s reported that this project will not interfere with his work on the FXX show.
This is another exciting pick up by Amazon who, to combat Netflix’s high quality shows, keep putting pen to paper with some big stars. They’ve already got Woody Allen‘s Crisis In Six Scenes on their service and have a big-time series lined up starring Robert De Niro and Julianne Moore, to be directed by David O. Russell.
This is just another shot fired across the bow in the battle for streaming supremacy.
