Jennifer Lawrence’s ‘Joy’ Already Tipped For Oscar Award Success | Film News

Teaming up with people you know and trust seems to be a successful venture in any industry. However, it is always a surprise to come across it in movie-making. Maybe we expect actors and directors to explore new avenues, yet it happens time and time again; everyone traipses back to who they can rely on. A general selection includes: Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese, Samuel L. Jackson and Quentin Tarantino, Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham-Carter and Tim Burton, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper, now allowing David O’Russell access to the Dream Team.

This trio first worked together in 2012 on Silver Linings Playbook, then again in 2013 with American Hustle, with Lawrence and Cooper also starring together in Serena in 2014. With Joy, it is the threesome’s third collaboration, and Lawrence and Cooper’s fourth, proving they are a force to be reckoned with due to the accolades for their work. Lawrence received the ‘Best Actress’ Academy Award for her portrayal of Tiffany Maxwell in Silver Linings… and American Hustle gained 10 Academy Award nominations, including ‘Best Supporting Actress’ for Lawrence, ‘Best Supporting Actor’ for Cooper, and ‘Best Director’ for O’Russell.

The release of the trailer for Joy evidences Lawrence’s powerful performance as young mother, Joy Mangano, who invented the Miracle Mop in 1990. Already an acclaimed actress by the age of 20 with her Oscar nomination for Winter’s Bone in 2010, five years later, we can only imagine the sheer command of the role Lawrence will project. Set for release in December, it is a certainty that Joy along with Lawrence, Cooper, and O’Russell will gain success for their teamwork once again.
