Jeremy Clarkson Makes Distasteful Oscar Pistorius Joke In South Africa | TV News

In the aftermath of his controversially abrupt removal from the BBC, Clarkson causes more upset.

During their live show in Johannesburg, South Africa, former Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson and James May were caught on camera making a distasteful joke about Oscar Pistorius killing Reeva Steenkamp. They were performing with co-presenter Richard Hammond under the name Clarkson, Hammond and May Live, after the trio’s exit led to BBC refusing them the right to use the Top Gear brand.

According to the Daily Mirror, at one point during the show, Clarkson pretended to shoot one of the audience members with a paintball gun, before saying “I thought he was a burglar”. May then asked: “Was that member of the audience you shot in the bathroom?”.

Pistorius was sentenced in October last year to five years in prison for the Valentine’s Day 2013 killing of his girlfriend, Steenkamp. The paralympic athlete claimed he shot Steenkamp through a locked bathroom door because he thought she was a burglar. Within weeks, the much-loved trio are expected to unveil an upcoming TV show they are going to be starring in.
