The murderer of rock legend, John Lennon, has been denied parole for the ninth time. Mark David Chapman shot Lennon on December 8, 1980 and was sentenced to 20 years to life. There was no official reason given why the parole was denied again.

Yoko Ono, the widow of Lennon, expressed fear for her safety and the safety of their children. Chapman has to stay in Wende Correctional Facility in New York’s Erie County. The parole board has argued that releasing him would “undermine respect for the law”.
