Johnny Winter Collaborates With Ben Harper And Joe Perry On New Blues Album | Music News
The new album from virtuoso guitarist and Blues pioneer Johnny Winter has been announced. The record Step Back due for release on the 2nd of September 2014, will feature a vast array of musical talent that will inevitably give the record a legendary status. The significance of this record is not only emphasized by the vast array of musical talent, featuring contributions from a multitude of stars within the Blues circuit such as Eric Clapton and Joe Perry.
Step Back is also the Texas Blues Guitarist’s swansong; Winter passed away last month at the age of 70 while on tour in Switzerland, subsequently marking an end of an era. The album is a must have for Blues fans with its expertly executed propulsive 12-bar blues, interspersed with fret-board wizardry and smooth vocals. Paul Nelson labels the new album as “one of Johnny’s greatest performances, both vocally and slide guitar-wise, in years”. The song premiere of “Can’t Hold Out” featuring Ben Harper can be found below, pre-order Step Back on iTunes here.
