June Brown To Star As Dot Cotton In ‘Eastenders’ Until She Turns 90 | TV News

Q&A: June Brown

Actress June Brown has signed a new contract to stay on EastEnders until she’s 90, the deal thought to be around £300,000 securing her future on the BBC soap for another few years. The contract makes her the soap’s second highest paid actor behind Steve McFadden – who plays Phil Mitchell. The new deal will come into force in March.

EastEnders producers were delighted with the deal, saying: “This is great news for June, great news for the bosses and great news for ‘EastEnders’ fans. Both the top brass and obviously June herself are aware that she is not getting any younger but she is still very agile for her age and simply wants to go on as long as possible“.
