Gillan was speaking to the BBC about Tupperware Party which she also wrote and stars in and it has nearly completed filming. The film has been described as an art house film set in her home city.

The plot of Tupperware Party follows a young girl called Lucy who lives in Inverness who is still struggling with her best friend’s suicide that happened a year earlier. Tupperware Party was shot in Bo’ness, doubling for Inverness. Gillan teamed up with the American Mt Hollywood Films and producer Claire Mundell who Gillan previously worked with on the rom-com Not Another Happy Ending.
