Keira Knightley Returns To The ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Franchise? | Film News

If you don’t understand Japanese, you probably wouldn’t have watched the new international trailer for the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales or have any intention of doing so, but you might want to change your mind about that!

The new international trailer is quickly going viral because fans have spotted one Keira Knightley, in costume and all, around the one minute mark! The actress is not listed on the IMDb cast page for the fifth Pirates movie, already bid farewell to her on-screen husband Orlando Bloom in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End and had previously confirmed she had no wish to return to the franchise.

But if Will Turner is going to return with the fifth Pirates movie, perhaps it isn’t impossible to see Elizabeth as well. It is, after all, their son (played by Brenton Thwaites) who plays a major character in the new sequel.

Looks like the original trio will be reuniting, since Johnny Depp is also reprising his role as main protagonist Captain Jack Sparrow. Also returning is Geoffrey Rush, though Kaya Scodelario joins Thwaites as a new face in the franchise.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales follows Jack Sparrow as he is hunted by the ghostly Captain Salazar (played by Javier Bardem) who seeks revenge for his death and the destruction of his ship. Jack’s only hope lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, which holds control over the seas.

Don’t miss out on the familiar characters and fresh new faces with the franchise’s next installment when Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales hits theatres May 26!
