Kelly Clarkson‘s “Piece By Piece” is proof that good can come out of a bad situation. The music video is in black and white and begins with two people holding hands, until one lets go and walks away. This no doubt represents Clarkson and the singer’s father which is the song’s focus. The visuals (and lyrics) get more positive towards the end, and the final clip is of Clarkson and her child which she describes as the “favorite part of any video I’ve ever done”.
Of the song as a whole, Clarkson describes it as “my love letter celebrating and thanking my husband for being a man that knows how to love me and our children without expecting anything in return. Also, this is a promise to my kids that I will never cease to love them, and be present in their lives always“.
