Kendrick Lamar Debuts Nike Cortez ‘Kenny I’ At NCAA Performance | Fashion News

While there was a lot of hype for Kendrick Lamar‘s performance at the 2018 NCAA College Football Playoff National Championship due to the reports of President Donald Trump being in attendance (didn’t even turn out to be as expected), the more important news to come from his performance at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta has been the debut of a brand new design for the Nike Cortez silhouette.

After images the original Nike Cortez colourway, dubbed “DON’T TRIP” Cortez “Kenny”, surfaced onto the internet, he comes back with a new, cleaner, simpler and more appealing colourway that has been described as “a tribute to his album DAMN” and one which is sure to get all the hypebeasts jumping.

The new white sneaker, called “Kenny I” features contrasting red embroidery of the album’s title along the sneaker’s lateral side, as well as custom Nike branding on the tongue with “DAMN.” appearing above a Swoosh logo. Other features of the shoe include its black tongue and red stitching across the upper.

Nike has confirmed that the “Kenny I” collaboration is set to drop via the SNKRS app on January 26, with a reported retail price of $100 USD so it definitely seems like a worthwhile purchase. Have a look at some up close pictures below.
