Kojey Radical – The Garden Party | Spoken Word
Boundary pushing London hailing spoken word and visual artist Kojey Radical hits us with some brand new visuals to one of the standout tracks from his impressive debut EP, Dear Daisy: Opium. The stunning and distinctive track “The Garden Party”, was produced by Jay Prince and comes with visuals crafted by award winning film collective The Rest and Kojey himself, and the imagery truly is evocative, creative and extremely stunning to the eye, detailing an experimental melancholy love story.
The garments worn in the visual are a big part of what makes the video so captivating as they come from the exclusive collaborative capsule collection “The Gardener” created by contemporary menswear designer Chelsea Bravo & Kojey Radical. The garments take their inspiration and unique infusions from painters canvas & garden utilitarian work wear, combining unconventional tailoring with unique shapes and patch work techniques, introducing elements of embroidery for added detail, along with interior embellishment, and a one of a kind padded vest jumper painted by hand by Kojey Radical.
“The Garden Party” takes you on an audio journey and truly accentuates Kojey’s powerful spoken word and lyrical abilities as they really do excel from the norm. “The Garden Party” highlights Marxist philosophies, social interaction and love in an almost conversational form that captures the listener and leads into a powerful and upbeat chorus that promises to get everyone moving.
