Kristen Wiig Stars In New Trailer For Quirky ‘Welcome To Me’ | Film Trailer

Kristen Wiig is racking up quite the impressive range of roles since her appearance in Paul Feig‘s Bridesmaids a couple of years ago, and is still going strong since her departure from Saturday Night Live. Not just showing off her impressive comedic skills, she’s been dipping her toes in dramatic roles with this new quirky flick, Welcome To Me.

Produced by Will Ferrell, Welcome To Me tells the story of a young woman with Borderline Personality Disorder who wins the lottery. After her win, Alice Klieg (Wiig) decides to quit her medication and buys her own talk show – obviously. Inspired by the one and only Oprah Winfrey, Klieg airs her dirty laundry and perplexes her viewers with an all matter of strange content.

Written by Eliot Lawrence and directed by Shira Piven, Welcome To Me sounds pretty silly on paper but the cool trailer actually feels pretty appealing. I’m a fan of Wiig and find her style of comedy entertainment and I can see her tackling a storyline like this with individuality and grace. With an impressive cast including Jennifer Jason Leigh, Wes Bentley, James Marsden, Tom Robbins and Joan Cusack, Welcome To Me hits theatres on May 1.
