LeBron James May Star In New Comedy For Paramount | Film News

Fresh off his new four year, $154 million move to the Los Angeles Lakers, it’s no surprise to hear that NBA star LeBron James has set his sights on Hollywood. James’ big screen career was reportedly one of many reasons for the move, and having made a splash with a great performance in the 2015 comedy Trainwreck, he’s looking to expand into bigger roles.

Per Variety, James and screenwriter Steve Mallory (The Boss), along with James’ production banner SpringHill Entertainment, have sold a comedy pitch to Paramount Players, with James potentially starring.

There’s currently no info on the untitled project yet, but if it’s being developed specifically for James it could be the perfect vehicle for him to spread his acting wings. He’s been busy behind the scenes, selling the spec script Hustle to Legendary, while also acting as a producer on New Line’s House Party remake, as well as the Netflix limited series On Her Own Ground, which stars Octavia Spencer.

James has also signed on to star in Space Jam 2, with Justin Lin set to direct, though it’s unclear whether that will happen any time soon. Speaking to Collider last year, Lin seemed hesitant that the sequel could happen any time soon, but with James now in LA, anything seems possible.

Either way, we know that while James hunts for a fourth NBA championship ring, he’ll also be working his magic off the court as he tries to make an equally big splash in Hollywood.
