‘Lethal Weapon’ Reboot Returns To ITV With Primetime Slot | TV News
A classic returns. ITV has confirmed that is has purchased the TV adaptation of Lethal Weapon and plans on showing it in a prime time slot, marking a return of an old tradition where it showed US Shows like LA Law and The Equalizer.
The reboot of the buddy cop series sees Damon Wayans fill the shoes of Danny Glover and Clayne Crawford fill Mel Gibson’s role. Kevin Lygo commented on the decision:
“It’s rare that we find an acquisition with that sweet spot potential – the best production values and hugely entertaining drama, that we think can appeal to the biggest and broadest audiences and take up a place in ITV primetime. We saw Lethal Weapon and were immediately excited by what it could add to the ITV schedule, and we’re really looking forward to bringing the series to UK viewers”.
