Lil Boosie Finally Released From Prison | Music News

Rapper Lil Boosie is finally a free man after serving five years in prison. The Baton Rouge rapper whose real name is Torrence Hatch was finally released from the Louisiana State Penitentiary on Wednesday night (March 5). The 31-year old was charged in 2009 with a third degree drug conviction and whilst he was in prison, he plead guilty to attempting to smuggle drugs which added an extra eight years to his sentence. He initially was set to be behind bars for another four years but has now been released and will be on parole until 2018.

In a 2013 interview with SPIN magazine, Lil Boosie was quoted as saying that he had written over 500 songs while in prison and now that he is a free man, we cannot wait to hear some of those records.

I have about 500 songs at the moment. I’m ready to get in the studio with the best producers. I feel that I’m making the best music I’ve ever made,” he said. “The more I go through in life the better my music gets and it’s been crazy the last three years. I keep my music heartfelt and stick to making real music. I wouldn’t even say its hip-hop music. My music is ‘reality rap.’ Hip-hop music can make you dance and bob your head, but it can’t make you cry or touch your heart like reality rap.” – Lil Boosie

Upon his return he posted a video of his daughter celebrating his release on Instagram, check it out below.
