Lionface – Girl | New Music

Lionface aka Kat Marsh is a Bristol alt-pop electro rising artist who some of you may recognise as the former bass-player and backing vocalist for The King Blues. 2013 was a great year for Kat with both her previous EPs Beast and Run For Cover receiving an array of support and rave reviews from taste-makers and even radio play on BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and XFM.

Now Lionface is back on the scene again with new a brand new exhilarating, fresh new track entitled “Girl”, which is upbeat, filled with rock riffs and also has a underlying sinister edge. “Girl” is taken from her forthcoming double A-Side single, which was recorded with producer Peter Miles (Dry The River, The Skints and We Are The Ocean) and truly demonstrates her passion, power and highly impressive vocal ability, proving that she was never made for backing vocals – Lionface is clearly an independent front women. This is also highlighted by the themes which “Girl” tackles, as the track is all about female safety and the dangers us women face, which is an extremely important topic, and very easy for us girls to relate to.

Lionface’s live reputation has rapidly been rising over the last year, due to her double UK tour with her band, and most recently when she smashed an array of UK festivals this Summer such as Blissfields, Dot to Dot and Leopallooza. She is also set for an abundance of live shows this October including The Marble Factory in Bristol (with Kosheen), and two headline shows in Winchester and London’s Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen on October 10th.
