Liverpool Sound City Festival 2014 – Thursday, May 1 – Saturday, May 3 | Events
The largest Metropolitan Music and Arts festival in the UK is back from the 1st to the 3rd of May in the heart of Liverpool city. That’s right, Liverpool Sound City 2014 is nearly upon us and if you’re anything like me, it can’t come quick enough! This year, the festival will be welcoming over 360 artists, in over 25 venues, with over 40,000 music fans and over 3000 industry professionals congregating for the festival. Each year, Liverpool Sound City proudly bring you some of the most exciting breakthrough artists, giving the city an opportunity to see tomorrow’ss major acts exclusively, before anyone else.
The festival has previously been host to acts such as Florence And The Machine, The Maccabees and Ed Sheeran. Acts at the festival will take to local venues, pop up stages and converted urban spaces all over the city, the festival also holds a yearly conference and this year, it is returning to The Hilton hotel for two days of Music, Digital, Art and Film discussion, featuring some of the most influential people from the modern industries. Previous years have included speakers from Warner Music Group, Live Nation, Universal and Domino Records. This year’s conference will be looking into the relationships of Music, Football and style and how these businesses can compliment and learn from each other.
Liverpool Sound City has also extended to Film and media, and the festival will be showcasing The Art of Pop film in collaboration with Liverpool gallery FACT, as well as creating pop-up cinemas throughout the city centre. As you can see, this year’s festival has gone above and beyond to bring you three days of opportunities, great live music, networking, educating, a variety of arts and interaction and above all a CRACKING GOOD TIME!!!
The Line up for this years festival is set be a banger with artists such as Gruff Rhys, Fuck Buttons, Kodaline, Clean Bandit, The Kooks, Jon Hopkins, Amber Run, Jagwar Ma, Bad Rabbits, Big Ups, Chloe howl, Denai Moore and many many more. This Festival is a 14+ event and there are some parts of the festival that are 18+ in which I.D will be required. For tickets and any more information check out the festival website here.
