The last few years have seen the film industry focusing more and more on the adaptation of young adult novels, which, for some, turned out as a very lucrative opportunity (need to mention the Harry Potter franchise, the Hunger Games saga, the Divergent trilogy and many others?).

This is why it does not surprise us that Disney has decided not only to adapt The Merlin Saga, a series of books by T.A. Barron, but has chosen Academy Award winner and Lord Of The Rings passionate Philippa Boyens to write the adaptation.

The screenwriter and producer, who, until now, has worked exclusively with Peter Jackson and his wife Fran Walsh, definitely knows a thing or two on how to script a book adaptation and turn it into a gold mine and, although this time she will not work with long-time collaborators, Boyens will team up with Gil Netter, who already produced the commercial and critical success Life Of Pi. For upcoming news regarding the saga, stay tuned.
