‘Lucy’ Sequel Confirmed To Be In Development | Film News
A sequel to the 2014 sci-fi hit Lucy has been announced to be in “development”. EuropaCorp, who produced the film, announced the sequel, as well as a number of other projects at CineEurope this week. Lucy told the story of Lucy (Scarlet Johansson), a woman who’s accidentally exposed to a new drug and developed a number of superhuman and supernatural abilities including telekinesis, telepathy, and more. Using her new found abilities, Lucy hunts down the international drug dealers who forced her to become a drug mule. Lucy was met with mixed critical reception but grossed over $458 million against a budget of only $40 million, so it’s not surprising that the studio would line up a sequel. However there’s no word as to whether Scarlet Johansson will return.
