M.I.A may be having visa issues, but that will not stop her from releasing new music. The British rapper has previewed a 2Pac-inspired track, entitled “Poc That Still A Ryda”, which is set to appear on her upcoming fifth album.

“Poc That Still A Ryda” opens with Middle Eastern influences, and the raps are delivered in singsong style. It features hi-hats and bottomless bass, with key lines punctuated with silence to give them emphasis. The introduction is reprised towards the end, preceding the final verse.

The song, which samples Enigma’s “Lost Four”, is accompanied by a visual of men racing horses and cars through the desert. During a recent Periscope session, M.I.A. revealed that the follow-up to 2013’s Matangi will drop in July featuring 12 tracks, but apparently no Rihanna collaboration.
