Actress Margot Robbie from Wolf Of Wall Street, Suicide Squad and Mary Queen Of Scots has landed the role of Barbie in the upcoming 2020 live action film of the same name.

The star rose to fame for her brilliant acting skills, and coincidently her blonde locks will suit the role of Barbie very well. Talking about the role, she mentioned this:

“I’m so honoured to take on this role that I believe will have a tremendously positive impact on children”.

She also said the doll created “confidence, curiosity and communication” for young girls.

Not only is she set to play the doll, she is also set to produce the film through her production company, LuckyChap Entertainment.

According to the BBC, “Comedian Amy Schumer had previously been cast to play the doll, only to drop out of the project in 2017″. And “It was rumoured last January that Anne Hathaway was in talks to take over the role”.

“In October, it was reported that the film, previously a Sony production, would use a “revised” script by Ocean’s 8 writer Olivia Milch.

She said she couldn’t think of “better partners” than Warner Bros and Barbie creator Mattel.

“Margot is the ideal producer and actress to bring Barbie to life on screen in a fresh and relevant way for today’s audiences.” – Toby Emmerich, Warner Bros.
