Martin Freeman Discusses Role In ‘Captain America: Civil War’ | Film News
Sherlock star Martin Freeman has been confirmed to be joining the Marvel Universe in Captain American: Civil War a while now, however fans have been wrecking their brains for what this undisclosed role is, that Freeman will be portraying. Finally we have some answers! Not many – but some. The actor has stated that his character will be part of the American Government with an East Coast American accent.
Speaking to BadTaste, Freeman mentioned in the interview that, “he works in conjunction with the superheroes, and certain agencies that help to tame the superheroes’ power, I suppose. So you’re not quite sure which side he’s on. It looks a little bit like he’s playing one game when actually he’s playing another“. Fans will be back to square one as the speculation of Freeman’s character being Edward Chase, the Prime Minister of England doesn’t match up with his statements on the character. Civil War hits cinemas across the UK on April 29, 2016.
